Weekend

For some reason we had a long weekend so we didn't have school on Friday. I think it's some Chinese holiday. Anyways, I had to go in on Friday at 9:00 for a practice History exam because our real exams are comin up. Which I'm freaked out about because they are decide all end all tests for my whole IB high school career. Besides the fact that I probably did horrible on that test because I got drunk and went to a girl's house til 4:00 in the morning like an idiot, I was pretty pumped on this weekend. I got to do some art on Friday, I've been growin a pretty sweet mustache for quite some time now, and it's almost in full bloom. Then I got a letter from UT Austin, so I was scared as shit to open it, but I did and I got in to the College of Communications, which was my first choice so I'm damn thankful and relieved about that, thank tha Lord. Last night I went to the opening night of the very first exhibition of Andy Warhol in China. It was like a big deal of an event so I had to dress up in a suit n shit. It was fun, I got drunk, the show wasn't amazing and it didn't have a lot of his shit in there, but it was still cool to be at. I don't really like Warhol's art that much anyways. Walkmen are comin out with a new CD soon, it'll be good, I'm pumped, look out for it. I guess that's all, I got school tomorrow and I hate it. Patrick you better still be talking to your parents about visiting me.

HOLY COW ITS APRIL!!!!

I dont know why thats a link, but dont click it. So portfolios are finally in, I'll be finding out which art department i got accepted into on April 9th. I came back to Roanoke for the weekend. Luckily we didnt get rained out except at night. BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THAT BECAUSE NIGHT FOOTY JUST WACK. (jk i really love night footy alot, when a light is used, with a fisheye) skated with spencer and hunter as well as james and tyler and their old TS crew. james took a bunch of pictures. Mad footy was taken care of as well, ill probably post that once a montage is made of it all. until then, enjoy the pictures below of my new parking spot, chilling in other people's cars, some guy with a bike, skatin a spot, chillin at the greenhouse and CHILLING PEACE IM OUT.

As my freshmen year slowly comes to an end I've realized growing up is finally happening here and now. Making more decisions, Creating a path for my life, and still learning in the process. As everyone else is the getting to this same way, don't forget to have fun...

Tyler was shot to death March 27, 2008 in Byrd Park after he and his girlfriend we robbed. I'm gonna miss you buddy. I wish i knew you better.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! After going through hell break and my final midterm exam tonight, i shall be participating in today's holiday for the best. Be safe tonight, and stay in school.

Recap

Upon returning home and doing a lot of this.... I received the news that everyone that i used to hang out with and skate with are having "hate sessions" and just talk shit on me now. im pretty pumped on all this. I can say this has been one of the worst visits back to roanoke, dealing with the shitty weather, paying for gas, and mad haters everywhere. Thus a good start leading into this whirlwind of exams, art, and destructive criticism that i have too look forward to for the remainder of this month back in RVA.

On another note, i've been playing a lot of guitar and piano over break. Bringing me back to my band days....
I caught word of a miniramp bbq this week and got to shred for a bit before my leg started bummin again. Here's a little bit of the footage....

...to document everything that happend today, so instead im oging to link stupid pictutres i find online dealing with whati m about to write.

in deliberation of what to do, we ended up playing soccer in a parking lot across the street from john's apartment. levin kicked the ball onto a roof. AFter a failed attempt by hunter to climb up the sticking out bricks in the wall as well as pulling a few out, i made the climb. as soon as i got up there and threw the ball down, i knew i couldnt get down. so i waited on top of the roof until john found a latter inside and i was rescued. drove to blacksburg, got gnarly, ate burritos, life goes on. Go get coffee with hunter and some friends. while waiting fo the others still inside, hunter and i broke out the soccer ball once again. juggling and shooting goals back and forth in between two buildings for about 20 minutes. the final shot by hunter is made, the ball goes soaring over my head and his shoe flys off onto one of buildings we were playing between. however this was a nice strip mall with not jutting out bricks to climb and was way to high to find things to stack up to get up there. so hunter's shoe remains ontop of MillMountainCoffee as of now. We may return tomorrow with a latter, who knows....

-it's almost 4am on saturday morning. I made an edit/remix to the previous video. its only a minute long so hopefully it will be more enjoyable and not too upsetting.

I stole a tape from nick last time i was in roanoke. its footage from a day skating with levin and some sesh haterrs. it gets a little boring in the parking garage, i didnt really edit anything, i just took the footage from the camera, raw, uncut, and placed the clips onto imovie. and this is the product. i'll probably end up making a legit video with the same footage and musicc in the future. but for now, enjoy mothalickas!

March Madness

I'm seriously losing my mind. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be listening to and learning in school anymore. I had a meeting with one of my professors last night to go over my midterm project. Instead of going over the curriculum and the specifics of the project, she told me to make more friends... However thanks to Daniel at the greenhouse, I'm thought to be a professional skateboarder to my professors, so i hint of sympathy in my oh so busy Life of Ryan lifestyle is in effect with my schoolwork and never ending projects.
